Na noite de ontem (12) o comerciante Paulo Afonso Leal Moreira, 42 anos, conhecido como Paulão, foi assassinado por disparos de arma de fogo.
A vítima era proprietário de uma loja de rasteirinhas e bolsas na Rua São Pedro, bairro Centro, e se preparava para fechar o estabelecimento quando foi surpreendido por um homem, ainda não identificado, que o atingiu com quatro tiros à queima roupa.
Segundo informações da Polícia Civil, Paulo Afonso ainda chegou a ser socorrido e encaminhado ao centro cirúrgico do Hospital Regional Justino Luz (HRJL), mas às 21 horas veio a óbito.
Ainda não há informações contundentes sobre o autor dos disparos. A polícia segue investigando o caso e aguarda o depoimento da viúva, Maria Martins de Carvalho.
POLÍCIA JÁ TEM O NOME DO ACUSADO
A Polícia Civil de Picos, através do delegado do 2º Distrito Polícia, Luiz Guilherme Ulisses, disse na manhã desta sexta-feira (13), um dia após o assassinato do comerciante Paulo Afonso Leal Moreira, morto na tarde de ontem com vários tiros de revolver, que já sabe o nome do autor do crime e que a polícia já está em diligências para tentar capturá-lo o mais rápido possível.
Segundo informou o delegado, logo que a polícia tomou conhecimento do homicídio, uma equipe foi deslocada até o local e ouviu algumas pessoas, logo em seguida um inquérito policial foi aberto para apurar os fatos, onde surgiu o nome do principal acusado de ter assassinado Paulo Afonso.
De acordo com o delegado, tudo leva a crer que a morte do comerciante possa estar relacionado a um desentendimento que a vítima teve em um bar há exatamente um mês, onde o mesmo ficou bastante ferido, chegando a ser internado em um hospital de Picos e depois foi até Teresina para fazer uma cirurgia do maxilar, que sofreu fratura devido às agressões.
O delegado informou ainda que o acusado é uma pessoa bastante conhecida da polícia, pois o mesmo reside em Picos e a polícia já sabe alguns lugares onde ele costuma freqüentar, o que tem facilitado as investigações e, espera que em poucas horas ele seja preso.
