Santana do Piauí promove V Marcha dos Vaqueiros

Desde o ano de 2006 que o município de Santana do Piauí promove a Marcha dos Vaqueiros, fazendo os santanenses saírem às calçadas e acompanhem a passeata que relembra tempos saudosos. Nesse 7 de setembro de 2011 não foi diferente. Organizada pelos vaqueiros do município, sob a liderança de Zé Brito, e contando com o apoio da Prefeitura Municipal dezenas de vaqueiros em suas montarias percorreram os povoados do município parando apenas para algumas homenagens.
Nas primeiras horas do dia os vaqueiros se reuniram no Centro Municipal de Ação Social para o café da manhã seguindo para o local de concentração na Praça São Pedro, onde o Hino Nacional brasileiro e o Hino Municipal foram entoados. Chico da Luz e Geminiano Brito improvisaram um aboio saudando a todos os participantes, alguns mais idosos que fizeram desta sua profissão e outros muito jovens, filhos e netos de vaqueiros. Sempre recorrendo à saudade como tema da profissão que já representou o maior status social na história do Piauí.
A primeira dama Maria Jose Dias saudou todos os participantes e expressou o seu sentimento de gratidão pela realização da Marcha dos Vaqueiros ter começado na administração “Determinação e Trabalho” do prefeito Valdenilson Dias Borges. Ela disse esperar que esse evento cívico, promovido sempre no sete de setembro, continue nos anos seguintes, palavras reforçadas por Chico da Luz e Geminiano Brito.
Disponibilizados ordeiramente ao redor do palco da Praça São Pedro os vaqueiros ouviram as instruções e o percurso para a marcha. O trajeto começou no centro administrativo do município e seguiu pela Avenida São João, percorrendo os povoados de Lagoa Seca e depois Lagoa dos Marcelinos, encerrando-se no povoado Barro.
Uma viatura da Polícia Militar ia à frente da marcha garantido a segurança dos participantes e das pessoas que trafegavam pelas ruas do trajeto. Através de um carro de som as instruções eram constantemente repassadas, os vaqueiros vinham em seguida com as bandeiras do Brasil, do Piauí e de Santana do Piauí e uma grande faixa com o dizer: “Realizar a Marcha dos Vaqueiros é valorizar nossa identidade cultural”.
As roupas dos vaqueiros chamavam atenção. Muitos vestiam camisetas brancas e calça azul, orientação da organização, e um seleto número usava o famoso e bonito gibão de couro, com chapéu e toda a bela indumentária que garantia a esses trabalhadores se aventurarem pela mata fechada em busca do gado desgarrado.
A exemplo dos anos anteriores os vaqueiros pararam em frente à residência do vaqueiro aposentado Zé Mariano, no povoado Lagoa Seca, e fizeram uma homenagem com música de aboio, improvisada no momento. E a exemplo dos anos anteriores Zé Mariano se emocionou. Uma segunda parada ocorreu no povoado Lagoa dos Marcelinos, em frente à residência do ex-prefeito Chiquinho Borges, falecido no ano de 2008. Como se tornou tradição os vaqueiros homenagearam a memória do ex-prefeito, em meio às lagrimas da viúva e dos familiares.
A V Marcha dos Vaqueiros de Santana do Piauí se encerrou no povoado Barro.
